Sunday Aug 6, 2017 We were looking to dine out in Davidson, but after realizing Concerts on the Green was in full swing, we decided to venture over to Huntersville. A real estate client had mentioned that they had an amazing meal at House of Taipei near exit 25. My local Asian favorites have always been Sabi in Davidson and Eez in Birkdale so I was intrigued to try something new.
When we arrived around 5:30, we were pleased to see a bunch of cars in the parking lot and when we entered the restaurant was half full. The service was spot on. We were shown to our table, given menus and immediately asked for drink orders.
The menu is varied with standard appetizers, main dishes and a section to customize your meal. We started with the Crab Rangoon, which was excellent and easily shared. I ordered the Taipei Delight $13.50 – Jumbo shrimp and chicken sauteed with red bell peppers, baby corn, & snow peas in a garlic sauce – excellent. Came with white rice and was a large portion. My youngest ordered Chicken Fried Rice $6.75 – he was very pleased. My older son ordered a build-your-own Traditional Chinese Dished Dual with Chicken and Shrimp and an Orange Sauce he selected off their list $11.50 – he thought it was great and plenty of food.
We left very impressed with the professional service, quality and selection of the food, and the size of the dining crowd on a Sunday night. So please try House of Tapei – it is hidden gem in plain sight in Huntersville.
