1) Attend Davidson’s Town Day – info

On the town green – Davidson’s annual Town Day: Saturday, May 6, 2023, 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.! In Celebration of Bike Month, the town will host the annual Lake Norman Bike Expo, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., in conjunction with the Town Day event. We encourage you to learn more about area bike and electric-bike shops, nonprofit advocacy groups, the town’s Vision Zero efforts, the Town of Cornelius’ “Heads Up” safety campaign, and our local greenways. Bring your bike and join a guided 10-mile community ride or 2-mile family bike ride. Town Day Town Day was originally started as a day of service and fellowship and we will continue on with that tradition. Join us on the town green for activities, fellowship, and a time to support our local non-profits.

2) Visit the Davidson Farmer’s Market – info

Come out and support the Farmers at Davidson’s year round Farmer’s Market. This week there will be live music by Maggie and a cooking demonstration by local cookbook author Sheela Prakash from her new cookbook Salad Seasons: Vegetable-Forward Dishes All Year. Also you can ask questions from Master Gardeners.

Named “the best American children’s book of the past two hundred years,” it’s the story about a famous spider. All the enchanting characters are here: Wilbur, the irresistible young pig who desperately wants to avoid the butcher; Fern, a girl who understands what animals say to each other; Templeton, the gluttonous rat who can occasionally be talked into a good deed; the Zuckerman family; the Arables; and, most of all, the extraordinary spider, Charlotte, who proves to be “a true friend and a good writer.” Determined to save Wilbur, Charlotte begins her campaign with the “miracle” of her web. It’s the beginning of a victorious campaign which ultimately ends with the now-safe Wilbur doing what is most important to Charlotte.
