Cornelius, NC I heard the food was really good at COWBOY from a colleague so we went. I was expecting a sit down steak house, but found it is kind of like a cafeteria. You walk in and are immediately on line to place your order. In line you look over the menu then you order, pay and find a table. Some tables are long and high and seem to invite you to share the table with others – family style. Others are smaller. The food is brought to you and, yes, is really good.
We ordered
BBQ BRISKET TACOS two smoked brisket tacos, cheddar/jack blend, creamy coleslaw, pickled red onions and peach habanero BBQ sauce $11 Side of Black Bean Soup
ROTISSERIE CHICKEN TACOS two slow roasted chicken tacos, creamy coleslaw, salsa fresca, Cotija cheese and tangy Texas BBQ sauce $8 Side of Mexican Street Corn Salad
TEMPURA CHICKEN TENDERS three lightly seasoned hand battered tenders served with Dijon sauce (grilled option available) $8 with Fries – Finished with warm cookie.
Highlights from our order were the chicken tacos (LOVED), the black bean soup (LOVED the soup), fries and the cookie. The service was very good. Everything was good, My son, a picky eater, was not in love with the batter on the tenders, but LOVED the fries.
Looked like they were doing a brisk take-out business too.
Definitely worth a try.
