Our Response to COVID-19 – safety and real estate

To Our Friends, Clients, and Colleagues,
It has been an unprecedented past few weeks as our world faces historic challenges with the growing COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic. First and foremost, we wish to send our love and support.

To our clients, please know that we will continue to serve your every real estate need, according to all social distancing best practices laid out by the CDC, and will do everything we can to offer our knowledge and support.

With that in mind, on March 28, 2020 the US DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY issued a memorandum instating real estate professionals (e.g. agents, mortgage officers, et al.) as essential services during this current hardship. Governor Cooper of the State of North Carolina also deemed real estate professionals as essential services now.

Mecklenburg County, however, issued stricter guidelines which we interpret to mean that real estate agents are deemed essential when they are involved in a property that is Under Contract.
The rules keep changing and we are working hard to keep up with the latest while maintaining safety. We at Goff Choice Properties – (Clark Goff and team at Allen Tate) recognize the seriousness of this announcement and will conduct ourselves accordingly.

Over the past week, we’ve received a number of calls and emails inquiring how we are conducting business during this time.
For buyers:

  • Virtual buyer consultations through the Zoom platform
  • FaceTime showings by Sellers
  • Shop for a home from home with new search platforms
  • Strategies to get a home purchase completed safely while adhering to guidelines

For sellers:

  • Virtual listing consultations through the Zoom platform
  • FaceTime consultations to review how to prepare the home
  • No Open Houses
  • FaceTime showings to qualified buyers
  • Where we can conduct showings adhere to all social distancing and CDC guidelines

If you have questions about buying or selling real estate, we would be delighted to schedule a virtual consultation to discuss the options. Please email Clark.Goff@allentate.com to coordinate.

We will continue to monitor and adhere to guidelines set forth by our local, state and national governments, as well as leading real estate industry authorities.

We are here to assist you in every way possible and are committed to providing you with the utmost service and guidance moving forward.
On behalf of Goff Choice Properties we send our love, prayers and best wishes for the health of you and your loved ones. We will get through this together.

Sincerely,

Clark Goff – Allen Tate Davidson 704 996-0948

***You can order*** Sad but Necessary – Davidson Farmers’ Market closed until May

While the market is closed, market manager Justin has arranged for you to be able to purchase directly from certain vendors. Click link for offerings.

DAVIDSON, NC Saturday mornings won’t be the same for some time as the Davidson Farmers’ Market announces it will postpone the spring market until May 2nd.

DFM will work to help us support the farmers by
connecting you with them outside the market

Market Manager Justin Burke-Samson explained the decision in an email to vendors Tuesday.

“Today, the Board and myself discussed our options with the Town of Davidson and with the recommendations of the CDC. We have concluded that it is not safe for DFM to operate the farmers market, that the last Winter Farmers Market on 3/21 will be canceled and that the 2020 Season will be postponed until Saturday May 2nd. This also cancels our all vendor meeting on 3/28.
Our decision was based on the following:

  • The farmers market is located on Town property and we must follow the Town’s lead, which as of today have cancelled public meetings, events, and gatherings until further notice;
  • As a nation, we are discouraged from gatherings of 10 people or greater;
  • The number of shoppers we have with the markets location/boundaries creates a densely populated environment that cannot be controlled safely;
  • DFM as an organization is not setup to follow the guidelines and recommendations to host a farmers market during this crisis, which includes but not limited to: vendors spaced 6 feet apart from one another, disinfectant stations, and running water for hand washing;

This decision was a difficult choice to make. As an organization, we have a responsibility to make sure that our vendors and shoppers are safe, first.

What does this mean moving forward and during the time the market is closed? DFM will now operate as a center of information for our vendors and shoppers, connecting the two to one another to ensure small businesses can continue to operate and that shoppers can have access to local and fresh produce and food.
Starting this week, and every week until we reopen, DFM will do the following:

  • Gather weekly information from our vendors who are selling items at their farm stands and location of business, attending operating farmers markets, offering online orders, participating in offsite pick-ups, etc.;
  • Keep a running list of open farmers markets in the area;
  • Send weekly newsletters with the above information;
  • Increase social media posts for updates, including specials and announcements from our vendors;
  • DFM website serve as a center of information. “

As the Title sponsor of the market I will miss my Saturday mornings talking real estate and passing out info to folks checking out our community. May is not too far away. Thanks Clark.

Davidson #1 Place to Live in NC in 2020 – Homesnacks.net

DAVIDSON, NC Article reprinted from Homesnacks.net

Where are the best places to live in the state of North Carolina?

Some might say wherever there’s a college basketball team, a NASCAR track, a sunny beach, a snowy mountain, great BBQ, or a hoppy crafted beer. When you stumble upon all, you might feel like you’ve won the North Carolina Lottery.

And, yes, it’s possible.

The Tar Heel state takes eight hours to drive from the Outer Banks on its East Coast to the Blue Ridge Mountains on its Western border. You’ll never hear a North Carolinian say that they’re bored. The eight hour trek unravels the state’s rich history around every Tar Heel corner. The Outer Banks has pirate lore and shipwrecks, battles were lost and won in the Piedmont’s backyard, and ancient Cherokee stories continue to be told around ceremonial fires in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Craft beer, BBQ, and NASCAR aside, North Carolina has a lot to offer and it is no surprise that the Tar Heel State is the 28th most expensive and the 9th most populous in the U.S. Currently 38% of North Carolinians are college-educated and with top colleges and universities like Duke and UNC, that percentage is sure to increase. Major metropolitan cities like RaleighDurham, and Charlotte are crushing the tech industry and local business is booming.

So, grab a BBQ sammie, a pint of your favorite craft beer and read on to discover how we determined the best cities in North Carolina.

The 10 Best Places To Live In North Carolina For 2020:

  1. Davidson
  2. Cary
  3. Apex
  4. Pinehurst
  5. Holly Springs
  6. Winterville
  7. Wake Forest
  8. Fletcher
  9. Huntersville
  10. Carolina Beach

We wish every Tar Heel city could be in the top ten: they’re all deserving.

But what city is the best place to live in North Carolina for 2020? Well according to the US Census and FBI data we crunched, Davidson is the best place to live in North Carolina if you care about home values, low crime, and a high quality of life.

It’s not a surprise that Davidson takes the cake. What Davidson does not have by way of mountains and beaches, it does make up for with its beautiful neighborhoods, gold star schools, and sweet Carolina BBQ.
